Register Your Bike

It is very important that you register your bike. This action will allow you to save your bike’s serial number, which will be useful in case of theft or loss of your bike (especially to help locate it and contact you). This identification will also allow us to maintain a communication channel to provide you with any safety-related information about your bike. You can register your bike directly on our website at https://www.Raptorport.com/, under the "Register Your Bike" section.

Before Your First Ride

Once you have found the Raptor bike that meets your expectations, regardless of the type of ride you plan to undertake, it is essential to perform a minimum of checks to ensure you can set off safely on the roads. Indeed, your ride could be cut short if you neglect these checks.

Adjust the Saddle to the Correct Height

When installing the seat post, the "MINIMUM INSERTION" mark must remain within the frame. If the seat post is extended beyond this mark, you should visit your dealer to either adjust the frame size or replace the seat post.

Adjust the Handlebar and Stem to the Correct Height

This adjustment requires specific knowledge. Incorrect adjustments may lead to necessary changes in the position of the controls, brake levers, or cable tension. The fork steerer could become damaged or broken, which could unfortunately result in a fall.

Pre-Ride Checks

Brake Check

To check the condition of your brakes, you should apply maximum braking force while stationary, ensuring that the levers do not touch the handlebars.

  • For rim brakes: They should never touch the tire. If the brake pads rub against the tire, it could lead to a blowout due to wear.
  • For disc brakes: The brake caliper should not move. Test it by gently pulling in all directions with your hand. The condition of the disc is crucial. For optimal performance, the disc must be free of deep scratches, marks, or any mechanical damage. Dirty discs will reduce braking power.

Saddle Check

It is essential to ensure that the seat post clamp mechanism (rails and collar) is properly tightened. The saddle should be well-aligned with the center of your bike. To check that it is securely fixed, try to rotate the saddle with your hand; it should not pivot. Also, check that the saddle is firmly attached to the seat post by attempting to move the saddle’s tip up and down, ensuring that the fastening system does not move.

Usage Conditions for Your Bike

Our extensive Raptor range includes many bikes designed for specific uses. Therefore, do not exceed the limits of your bike, as doing so could result in damage to the bike or its components, and potentially lead to an accident. If you have any doubts about the appropriate use of your model, please contact an Raptor distributor for guidance.

Cleaning Your Bike

We recommend using bike-specific cleaning products, such as an aerosol or plant-based degreaser, a chain cleaner, a drivetrain brush, a cleaning spray or concentrate, and a sponge. A thorough cleaning is advised each month if you ride 2-3 times in dry conditions. However, a quick clean after each ride (using a dry cloth or wipe) is also recommended. If you ride in wet conditions, it is essential to clean your bike weekly to prevent dirt buildup that could damage the equipment. For mountain bikers, cleaning is an integral part of the ride.

Listen to Yourself and Your Bike

Ride smartly and be aware of your skill level. Stay focused and avoid distractions—your phone or any other device can divert your attention and lead to accidents. Avoid improper use of your bike; refer to the "Conditions of Use" section for guidance on appropriate riding practices. Pay close attention to your surroundings, especially cars, pedestrians, and other cyclists. If you notice any unusual behavior from your bike, stop and identify the issue. It's crucial to anticipate and address problems early to avoid future issues.
